Antony Costa - "When I heard about the charity it really touched me and after meeting Ged and Julie I told them if there was anything I could do to help it would be great. Saturday was such a memorable night and I am more than happy to be involved, it is an honour".
Ged and Julie say we couldn´t believe our luck when our special friend Ray Fensome agreed to help us find the entertainment for Saras Birthday Ball. When Ray suggested a 17 piece swing band fronted by Antony Costa and Jonathan Wilkes we so excited and said "yes please". We met Antony and his manager Andy after the Nolan´s concert at the Telewest Arena and immedeiately warmed to their friendly and caring take on life. Ray has previously told us that Antony was a real nice guy and he was spot on. Julie and I were so proud to have such a fantastic show to celebrate Saras birthday and Antony, Jonathan and the band were fabulous.
One of the highlights of the night was when Antony and Louise Dearman led Stevie Wonders "Happy Birthday" especially for Sara at midnight to celebrate her 25th birthday.
After the official night had ended we sat in the hotel bar with Antony, Andy and some other special friends. Antony was such a gent and signed autographs and had his photo taken so many times.
Julie and I spoke to Andy a few days later on the telephone and I actually spoke to Antony´s parents who were so nice. We were delighted when Antony accepted our invitation to be an abassador for the charity - Antony speaks fluent Greek and can understand our reasons for choosing a Greek island to build the retreat.
Following the success of the night, Antony also pledged his support to the charity by becoming a patron. The singer said he jumped at the chance to be involved in the charity.
Welcome to the team Antony ......... thanks so much for helping in our task to achieve sara´s dream
