29th December 2007 - On 29th December Lyn, Sheila and Michelle raised £55 from an impromptu dip in the North Sea while celebrating at McHoppers 60th birthday celebrations at the Board walk restaurant in Whitley Bay.
23rd December 2007 - Congratultions to Lisa Johnson who lost 2 stone in weight in a sponsored slim for the Foundation and raised a fantastic £299. Also, a big thank you to Sonia Armstrong and all the staff at Tynemouth Library for raising £41 from a Christmas Coffee afternoon.
20th December 2007 - Stocksigns Sara Hope day. Stocksigns raised £100.10, with a special thank you to Claire Mitchelson for organising the event and for the kind donation of the Saras Hope Foundation car stickers.
19th December 2007 - Department for Work and Pensions fundraising. The Department for Work and Pensions held a dress down in the Future Pension centre on wednesday 19th december and raised £174.45p. The cheque is being presented by centre manager, Dave Stirling to Ged Hoburn, Mark Hoburn and Mark Johnson.
8th November 2007 - There is an article in this weeks FULL HOUSE magazine, 15th November 2007, Issue 46. This article is about Sara and how she has inspired us to set up the charity.

27th October 2007 - Help us get "Six Strings For Sara" into the singles charts - with everyones help we can do it !!!!

Six Strings for Sara is a spine tingling guitar instrumental composed, performed and recorded by the legendary Bill Nelson. This 7 minute 45 second piece is a wonderful and fitting tribute to Sara who touched the lives of so many people. This track will only be available to download from sarashopefoundation website (for a small donation). All proceeds from Six Strings for Sara will be donated to the Saras Hope Foundation.

27th October 2007 - Ged, Julie, Mark and Faye attended The Nelsonica 07 ´Secret Club For Members only´ event In York this weekend. The Convention was a huge success with attendees flocking from all over the world. Bill Nelson and the Nelsonica Team raised over £900 for the Foundation with a special ´auction lot´ and from individual donations. The weekend was magical, the highlight was an inspirational two hour live set from Bill Nelson which brought a standing ovation from the audience, the man truly is a star and a maestro of the guitar. Ged and Julie wish to personally thank Bill, the Nelsonica team and everyone for there kindness and heartfelt support.
Update - 20th January 2008 - The Seaton Singers Christmas Concert was a fantastic success raising £1,023.20 for the Foundation. Special thanks to Gilly, Meg and all the singers for their wonderful support and kindness. Also a big thank you to Janet and Denis Robinson for their kind donation of £200.00 after the event.
12th December 2007 - 7.00pm till 10.00pm, A special Christmas Concert performed by the Seaton Singers. This will be taking place at the Linskill Centre in North Shields. Update - 20th January 2008 - Everyone enjoyed some great live music from a very talented band and the event raised £750. Thanks to Ben, owner of Whip Tail Cycles in Tynemouth for the donation of a voucher for £120 for the first prize.
30th November 2007 - Update - Click here to display the winners of the prize draw. 29th November 2007 - At 7.00pm, one off charity concert by ´Behind Bars´ at the Crescent Club Cullercoats (tickets £3.00).
24th November 2007 - Local Ashington bands Sohcahtoa, Metal Fall and The Illustrators, held a band night on Saturday 24th November 2007 at the Fell em Doon club in Ashington. The event raised £641.88p in total.

Update - 20th January 2008 - The Halloween Party at the Sea Horse was a brilliant night with fun and games for the children. The event raised £335 with a big thanks to the staff at the Sea horse(Whitley Bay Football Club)for everything.
3rd November 2007 - A family Halloween party at the Seahorse - Whitley Bay Football club from 7.00pm - 10.00pm (behind the Ice rink ) - prizes for the best fancy dress and best pumpkin and lots of fun and games for the kids. Hot dogs and burgers and a quiz for the mams and dads (Tickets £1.50)

Update - 1st February 2008 - We have just recieved a cheque for £400.63 raised from Beckys skydive. A million thanks to the brave and courageous Becky (who was a great friend of Sara´s) and to all the kind people from the Catterick Garrison who sponsored the event.
11th October 2007 - Becky, a very good friend of Saras, is in the Armed Forces and did a Sky dive for the Saras Hope Foundation on 11th October 2007.
27th September 2007 - Race night at the Black Horse pub in Monkseaton - A great fun night with lots of surprises eg Deal or No Deal and a chance to win some money !!!!
25th August 2007 - A social evening at the Magpie Public House with disco, drinking and a raffle.
19th August 2007 - Mini football tournament at Portland Park Ashington. Six teams playing for the Sara Hoburn cup. A fun day out for all the family. Please try and give some support
18th August 2007 - Bag Packing at Asda Ashington (everyone welcome, the more the merrier) , between 09:00 and 18:00. Under 14s require an adult to be with them.
12th August 2007 - Family walk from St. Mary's Lighthouse to Tynemouth (4 and 1/2 miles) - opened by one of the children from the Teenage Cancer Unit RVI Newcastle. Meeting in the Lighthouse car park at 11.30 am
