2009 Dip in the Sea Update
Despite the freezing cold conditions, over 100 fearless volunteers turned out to brave the freezing cold sea. There were some amazing fancy dress costumes including santas, sumo wrestlers, Superman, a vicar, pirates, smurfs and Borat !!!! The brave ´dippers´ were cheered on by a crowd of approximately 300 spectators who really helped to make this a fun filled atmosphere. Those who took part enjoyed a bowl of homemade soup and a hot drink afterwards to help them thaw out !
Thanks a million to everyone who took part and to those people who kindly sponsored and cheered on the ´dippers´.
Special thanks to Mark and Tracy Rae, owners of the Boardwalk, for very kindly sponsoring and hosting the event and to all the staff for their excellent hospitality.

Charity Ball Update
Wow !!!! What a fantastic night. It really was a party atmosphere and the perfect way to celebrate Saras 25th birthday.
The evening raised £20,000 through auctions and raffles, and guests were entertained by singers Jonathan Wilkes, Antony Costa and Louise Dearman, who performed with a 17-piece swing band.
Ged and Julie said
The Saturday was just a very proud night. There were some highlights like when Jonathan Wilkes dedicated Angels to Sara and Antony Costa lead the Happy Birthday song. It was magical and something that couldn´t have gone any better. Sara would have loved it.
Following the success of the night, boy band member Antony also pledged his support to the charity by becoming a patron.
There are so many people to thank who made this such a special night. First of all the special people on the Saras Hope Foundation team who put so much time, energy and hard work into organising this special night - Emily, Keith, Helen, Sara, Liz, Margaret and Louise - without these guys the charity would not be where it is today.
Special thanks to our good friends Martin Bostock (photographer), Lyn, Michael, Siobhan and her army of friends, the Embleton family, Clare Richards, Kris Forster and Darren and Donna Ray Fensome for helping us organise the entertainment - Ray is such a lovely guy .
