In sixteen magical years Sara filled my life with so much happiness, love and pride to last a lifetime. I know Sara will always be my `angel `and she will be thrilled and excited by the aims of Saras Hope Foundations and with the strength and determination, we have found through the inspiration of Sara we know the dream will become a reality. When the first child walks through the door of the Retreat Sara will be smiling down from the stars.

Sara was my best friend, the bond we share is precious and will live on eternally. I am the proudest ´mam´ in the world. You are my inspiration to folllow our dream and help other children and teenagers in the way you would. You are so special and I know in my heart the dream will come true. Thank you sweetheart for filling my life with love, laughter and joy.

I had the pleasure of knowing Sara, watching her grow through the journey of her life. I fondly remember her as a tiny baby, as a toddler, as a school girl, and it brought great warmth to my heart to see her become the buoyant and beautiful young woman that we remember.
For a number of years I would call for her during my morning school run and even on the darkest and most dire of winter mornings I was always greeted by the warmth of her smile, which brought light to each day. It was that same beaming smile that would meet me at the school gate, broadening the closer we got to her home and her mother Julie. Now through the Sara´s Hope Foundation, that warmth will shine as a beacon radiating comfort and hope to all those children who desperately need the touch of her wonderful smile.

Liz´s role within the foundation is as a Childrens Events Coordinator / Assistant.

Louise Bloomfield

I got involved in the charity because I want to help children and families in the same position as Sara was to have smiles, hope and happy memories. I think that the Sara´s Hope Foundation is the perfect tribute to Sara and her bright, sunny personality.

Louise´s role within the foundation is as a Childrens Events Coordinator.

Sara was the happiest, most inspirational person I have ever had the pleasure to know. The Hoburns were like my second home when I was growing up and I remember many happy times there, like making a mess of the kitchen baking ´original´ cakes and listening to Steps on repeat. I think the charity is a great way to honour her memory. I´m sure she would love the idea of us brightening the days of others by passing on her constant smiles, as well as giving families hope and precious memories on relaxing holidays.

Emilys´s role within the foundation is as an Events Coordinator.

Sara Clark

Sara Clark - Director for Saras Hope Foundation
I was thinking of doing some voluntary work with some of my spare time when I came across Saras Hope Foundation in the local press in 2007. I contacted Ged and really it was Ged and Julie´s passion and commitment that made me want to support the charity, as well as understanding how important it is for families to be able to enjoy their time together on holiday when a loved one has a life limiting illness. I thought that my skills and experience might help, with the charity being so new. I am willing to get stuck in with as much as possible where time allows and to particularly help the charity with applying to trusts and foundations for funding.

Sara´s role within the foundation is as a Grants Application Adviser / Training Facilitator.

Pat Procter - Overseas Coordinator in Crete for Saras Hope Foundation
I first met Ged, Julie and Faye in August 2007 when they were in Crete on a ´fact finding mission´. They told me of their dream and the reasons why they were looking to build a villa retreat in Crete. Their vision touched my heart, so much so as I am a very lucky ex-cancer sufferer who knows how terrible a time it is for everyone involved.
We had lots of time to talk about how the dream could become a reality. Since then we have been in regular contact and was asked if I would like to attend the Official Launch of the charity in June 2008. I flew over and met the ´home team´ of trustees, fundraisers and supporters of Sara´s Hope Foundation.
I met up with Ged, Julie, Mark and Faye in August 2008 when they asked me if I would like to be part of the team. I am therefore honoured, delighted and privileged to be the first member of the ´away team´. There is no doubt that together we will achieve the dream of Ged, Julie, Mark and Faye and more importantly Sara who is their eternal inspiration.
